I’ve worked my way up from Core Basics and almost at the halfway point of SLAM Advanced! I’m a C-section twin mama and people are shocked by my ABS?!?! (Like- I have those?!) You’re so right when you tell people it takes time; I still have a ways to go but I sure am grateful for you!

I couldn’t even hold my kids over the tub to give them a bath when we brought them home. My core was obliterated. I didn’t even attempt a ‘workout’ until they were 9 months old. I cried so hard the first day I tried core basics. I lay there and I cried and I prayed. Like so many moms I gave them all I had and left nothing for myself.
But now. NOW. I put my oxygen mask on first. I honestly can’t look at those pictures without being like, “Wait, is that really me”? I can’t believe I made it to this place. And I absolutely wouldn’t have done it without you.

GOING THE DISTANCE TO SEE RESULTS
If you know me in real life, no you don’t! Hah! Progress pictures: May 2020 vs March 2022. Started out May 2020 coming off a broken foot and only 6 months PP with my third kid in 3 years. I didn’t recognize myself. Finally started SLAM after following Ashley for a year or so. Just hit my one year “SLAM” anniversary and can’t believe how far I’ve come even when I don’t see it day to day. Two rounds of SLAM Bridge, 7 weeks of SLAM and now 2 weeks of SLAM30. It takes time and sometimes I still get frustrated with the journey but then I look back and see how far I’ve come all thanks to the help of Ashley!

I can’t even explain how much I love this program. Never in my life have I had this much definition in my abdomen and this is 2 years postpartum from having a 10 lb 5 oz baby! I still have loose skin and my little mom pooch at the bottom where my cesarean scar is but I find myself focusing less and less on it by the day because of all of the gains I have been making everywhere else. PLAYING WITH PURPOSE

BEFORE FINDING SLAM
I started with a trainer mid-January, 2020 to mid-May, 2020. I learned about hand portions and nutrition/better options and did custom workouts. I lost around 20lbs. During this time, I also learned to obsessively weigh myself.
I really learned to guilt myself, and did the whole cheat meals cycle without knowing the danger it really was.
Then, I did my own thing for a couple months (I couldn’t keep paying $250/mo). I then found an Instagramer who is Hispanic, so I felt a connection due to similar cultural background. I did lots of cardio, and even joined a 6 week challenge where I learned to guilt myself, resulting in another lost 20lbs. I really learned to guilt myself, and did the whole cheat meals cycle without knowing the danger it really was. I thought I was living a great “lifestyle.” I started feeling bad, so I started researching which were the best foods, best options. I was reading scholarly articles about 4 egg whites vs whole egg. I came across intuitive eating, but didn’t think much of it and moved on.
DISCOVERING THE SLAM DIFFERENCE
Fast forward to 2 weeks after I ended this 6 week challenge—I found GMS on Instagram, and thought I could give it a shot. I found it on a Wednesday. I remember because I remember Ashley saying, “I don’t count calories, macros etc.” I even sent her a message and asked then what do you do? I was interested, and just went for the 7-day trial. I told myself I would give it a month. I would that I really enjoyed the month, and at 5 weeks…hubby noticed my butt was different. FIVE weeks. I was like “hmm ok.”
I am in a stage where my body is gaining muscle and losing weight! I know…I never thought that was possible.
During this time I did more research on un-dieting and intuitive eating. So fast forward to week 10 of being on Get Mom Strong program—I’ve been un-dieting, and for 2 months I’ve not done any focused cardio (like run- which i was taught was absolutely necessary. I started the program at 153ish and saw I lost 4lbs (always ignore the scale though because that number doesn’t matter). This is me eating whatever/whenever and seeing definition in my body. This may not seem like a lot, but I am in a stage where my body is gaining muscle and losing weight! I know…I never thought that was possible.
A NEW WAY OF LIVING
ANYWAYYYY all that to say- the program works! It is better than having a trainer; better than doing challenges, counting macros or calories or whatever. It is better than restricting yourself. Believe me—I am loving it. If you have any questions, Ashley will gladly answer them, she has answered so many of mine.
I’m now on week 12 day 3 of SLAM Advanced. I love it and won’t ever go back to anything else.

THE SLAM DIFFERENCE
Ashley’s program is so fun and challenging it can all be done from home with minimal equipment. The focus is on growing and not shrinking, which helps for mindset and lifelong consistency. I’ve gianed 5 lbs this year, so much different than my goals ten years ago. My goals in the gym now mirror my mental health goals and sometimes a good session can bring on tears as I heal. It is so much more than appearance for me. My gym time is therapeutic.

I have gained weight but gone down a pants size. Although filling out more in the booty LOL. I have way more energy on the days I work out. YOU GUYS. I started SLAM Bridge in September 2020, and I have slowly worked all the way up to SLAM Advanced after having my second in June 2020. I still have some midsection weight to lose (apple body all the way), where I know I need to clean up my diet a bit, BUT. My husband came over and kissed me yesterday and put his hands on my butt. He told me to stop flexing. I said I wasn’t! And then I felt my own butt and said “holy ish”!I had no idea how hard these buns were! As a person who has had a tiny, flat butt my whole life, I am so happy for these gains.

Just completed SLAM Bridge! Yay! I’ve done it once since having my last kid, but it took me a very long time to complete, so I decided to do it again before moving on! I also liked the shorter workouts.

I’ve completed SLAM Bridge!! Wahoo!!
